ABOUT

FOOLISH PRIDE

Southern-Fried Blues & Rock

Following in the tradition of the raucous, overdriven tones of 60/70s era classic rock, Foolish Pride serves up an eclectic blend of scorching, Southern-fried soundscapes that range from soulful blues and improvisational psychedelia to dueling lead guitars and thick vocal harmonies.

Featuring Trevor Blank (vocals, guitar), Sean Tierson (drums), Joe Thomas (keys, vocals), Don Cannamela (bass), and Brian Myatt (guitar), the band plays throughout New York and onward through the great blue yonder.

Equipment

TREVOR BLANK  plays a 2019 Gibson Historic 1957 Les Paul R7 VOS goldtop equipped with Gibson “Custombucker” pickups; a 2019 Gibson '61 Les Paul/SG (also with Custombucker pickups), as well as a 2022 Gibson 1968 Les Paul Custom (with Wildwood Spec Custombuckers). He sometimes busts out a stock, midnight blue 2019 Rickenbacker 620/12 for jangly occasions. For acoustics, Trevor plays a 1981 Guild D-212M 12-string acoustic dreadnought and 2018 acoustic dreadnought crafted by luthier Tracy Cox, modeled loosely on a Martin D-41. He also occasionally breaks out a couple of electric guitars that he has built with Tracy, most notably a Nashville-style telecaster named “Clementine,” which sports an orange-colored, quilted maple top and mahogany body, with Lollar “Vintage T” neck/bridge pickups and a Lollar “Vintage Tweed” middle pickup. He also sometimes rotates in a TV Yellow Les Paul Special guitar equipped with Wolfetone “Mean” and “Meaner” P-90s (also built with Tracy). For amps, he primarily uses a Carr Super Bee and/or Tungsten Amplification Mosaic MKII or Statesboro, but sometimes wields a souped-up, brown 1962 Fender Deluxe with original Oxford 12K5 speaker, and sometimes pairs a Louis Electric Columbia Reverb with one of his other combo amps. At bigger venues, outdoor shows, and special occasions, you might spot his 1966 Fender Bassman. Now and then, he also calls upon his deliciously purple Germino Lead 55 head, typically paired with a matching 2x12 open-back cab that boasts Scumback M75 & H75 (65-watt) speakers. Trevor uses Temple Audio pedalboards and CIOKS power supplies. The layouts of his pedalboards are often in flux, but his favorite pedal manufacturers include PastFx, Kingsley, Paul Cochrane Audio, Lauren Audio, BMF Effects, Chase Tone, Basic Audio, and Analog Man. He uses Lava and Rattlesnake cables, Dunlop .73 nylon picks, Curt Mangan strings (.10-.46) for electric guitars, and Elixir light gauge, phosphor bronze strings for acoustic guitars.

SEAN TIERSON  plays a Gretsch Renown RN2 in a 13/16/24 configuration. He also plays Tama Starclassic drums, along with Tama hardware, DW pedals, Evans drumheads, Zildjian cymbals, and ProMark sticks.

JOE THOMAS  plays a Nord Electro 3 keyboard, and occasionally uses a Peavey Delta Blues 210 amp for a monitor. He also plays a 1936 Hammond Model A organ (predecessor of the legendary B3); a 1976 Yamaha CP-73B; and a 1977 Rhodes Stage 73 piano. Once in a blue moon, Joey breaks out a pair of vintage, Hammond Leslie rotating speakers as well. On extra rare occasions, you might even spot him with a 1986 Fender Stratocaster in hand! Joe uses Lava and Gator cables.

DON CANNAMELA  plays a Fender P-bass and a Fender jazz bass.

BRIAN MYATT  plays a Gibson ES-335 Custom and a Gibson Firebird (Limited Edition 1965 Lyre Tail Vibrola model). For amps, he plays a Metropoulos Metro-Plex amplifier.

a big “Thank You”…

We are indebted to Tim Damon and family for generously providing the band with a place to rehearse and gel in preparation for live shows and the creation of original compositions. Big thanks to Dustina Hooper (@xosteena, @artbysteena) for taking many of our promotional photos found throughout this site. Our thanks also extend most deeply to our friends, family, and fans who have provided us with so much love and support since the band's inception. We love and appreciate you all!
